THE SCHÖNEBEN-HAIDERALM SKI AREA
Construction work to interconnect the Schöneben-Haideralm ski area is now in full swing, and everything is going according to plan.
Your top SkiArena on the Reschen Pass
This initiative to unify the two Schöneben and Haideralm ski areas has been designed to optimise the strengths of both these ski locations.
The ultimate goal is to make the new Schöneben-Haideralm ski area an attractive all-year-round destination which is perfectly integrated as two substantial ski networks: the "Zwei-Länder-Skiarena" and the "Ortler Skiarena".
This optimum combination of these two ski areas will create the ideal conditions for the new Schöneben-Haideralm facility, thus making the location even more attractive for families, beginners, returners, snowboarders and freestylers.
What you can expect:
- A new 10-passenger gondola lift from St. Valentin to Schöneben
Building work has already started on the mountain and valley stations required for the 10-passenger gondola lift. All towers have already been installed and a 94-ton cable has already been delivered by special transport.
The most important feature of this new gondola lift is undoubtedly its length, because at 4.3 kilometres this is one of the longest cable tracks of its type.
- The 10-passenger Höllental-Bahn gondola lift
Work is also fully underway and right on course at the Höllental-Bahn site. Here, the towers and mountain station are nearing completion, and construction of the valley station and the cable assembly are also now very much in progress.
- Connecting the Schöneben-Haideralm piste and the Höllental piste
In addition, these new gondola lifts will also facilitate the connection of the Schöneben-Haideralm piste, now refashioned as a new downhill adventure experience, with the Höllental piste.
Together, these two slopes will provide a quantitative and qualitative extension of previous winter options which will significantly enhance and intensify the skiing experience enjoyed by all our visitors. And futhermore, the Höllental piste also affords ski enthusiasts superb panoramic views over the Reschensee and the famous bell tower of Graun’s submerged 14th-century church.
The opening of the 2018/19 winter season is fast approaching, and we are very much looking forward to exploring – and skiing – these new slopes for the first time.
